West Burleigh Construction Waste and Resource Recovery (WBCWRR) Project - Noise Impact Assessment 

An independent Noise Impact Assessment was conducted for the proposed WBCWRR Project. 

The assessment has been based upon ambient noise monitoring and detailed computer noise modelling to provide recommendations for measures required to mitigate noise impacts at sensitive receptors and comply with regulatory noise criteria. 

Land uses surrounding the existing site have various zonings. These include: 

• A low-density residential zone. 

• Non-residential activities such as the existing Reedy Creek landfill operations. 

• Heavy industry and commercial businesses. 

• Traffic on the Pacific Highway. 

Assessment findings 

The noise assessment conducted demonstrates that no noise control measures are required from the proposed non-putrescible construction waste landfill and resource recovery to comply with the relevant 7am to 6pm noise limits at identified surrounding sensitive receptors.
