About Us

Building the Gold Coast for Over 50 Years

We are Australia’s leading construction materials company, committed to sustainability and supporting the Gold Coast’s growth. From roads and bridges to homes and hospitals, Boral has been at the heart of the region’s development for decades—and continues to shape its future through innovative, environmentally responsible solutions.

Who we are

Boral is Australia’s largest vertically integrated construction materials company. Our operations include quarries, cement infrastructure, bitumen, asphalt, concrete batching, and recycling facilities. For 80 years, we’ve built a strong reputation as a responsible and trusted operator, supplying the essential materials that keep Australia moving.

We employ approximately 7,500 people and contractors across more than 360 sites nationwide. Chances are, you’ve driven on a road, crossed a bridge, or entered a building made possible by Boral’s products and the people behind them.

Building the Gold Coast for 50 Years

Through our integrated operations—including hard rock quarries with recycling capacity, concrete batching, and asphalt manufacturing—Boral has supplied the essential construction materials that have shaped the Gold Coast for decades. From motorways and major roads to bridges, tunnels, hospitals, schools, light rail infrastructure, and residential housing, our work underpins the region’s growth.

Over the past 50 years, Boral has delivered more than 40 million tonnes of quarry materials to the Gold Coast’s building and construction industry—supporting one of the region’s most important economic sectors.

Projects That Shape Our Region

In the past decade alone, materials from our Gold Coast operations have enabled major regional projects, including:

  • Gold Coast Airport upgrades

  • Tugun Bypass

  • Gold Coast Light Rail stages

  • Multiple Pacific Motorway (M1) upgrades

  • Gold Coast Commonwealth Games Precinct

  • Coomera Connector

Our West Burleigh Quarry currently produces about 25% of the Gold Coast’s total aggregate supply. In 2024, its products were primarily used for new dwellings (39%) and road construction (44%)—both critical to meeting population growth and infrastructure needs.

Innovation and Sustainability

We’re committed to building a sustainable future for the Gold Coast and beyond. Our approach goes beyond supplying essential materials—we actively work to reduce environmental impact through smarter practices.

From recycling concrete and asphalt to pioneering technologies like crumbed rubber asphalt derived from heavy-duty tyres, we’re leading the way in waste reduction and resource recovery. These initiatives support a circular economy, lower emissions, and help meet government targets for recycled content in construction.

Rehabilitation is also integrated into every stage of our operations, ensuring quarry sites are progressively restored to safe, stable landforms that protect environmental values for generations to come.

Why It Matters

As Australia’s largest integrated construction materials company, we supply the essential components of the built environment - from quarrying raw materials to producing concrete, asphalt, and aggregates, and delivering them directly to projects.

Every day, our people and products help build and maintain the infrastructure that keeps the Gold Coast moving—roads, bridges, homes, schools, and hospitals. By combining innovation with responsible practices, we’re ensuring the region’s growth is supported in a way that’s sustainable, efficient, and focused on community needs.
