Why Are These Upgrades Needed?
Traffic safety and efficiency are critical for the Reedy Creek Key Resource Area Project (RCKRA Project). Independent traffic assessments have helped shape a plan that supports safe access for heavy vehicles and improves overall road performance for all road users.
These upgrades are designed to benefit both the project and the wider community.

Intersection improvements
1 Pacific Motorway Off-Ramp (Northbound)
The project includes an upgrade to the northbound off-ramp from the Pacific Motorway, where:

2 Scottsdale Drive / Stapley Drive / Bayswater Avenue
The proposal includes an improvement at this busy intersection:
- Extend the left-turn slip lane from Stapley Drive to Scottsdale Drive into a true auxiliary lane about 70 metres long.
- This provides additional storage capacity for heavy-vehicle movements during peak periods.
- This upgrade reduces blockages in adjacent lanes.
- It also delivers benefits for three TransLink bus routes (757, 759, 760) by reducing delays and improving reliability.

What this means for the community
These upgrades will make the local road network safer and more efficient, reduce congestion during peak hours, and improve conditions for all road users—including public transport. The improvements far exceed what is required to offset the development’s traffic impacts. They represent a long-term investment in the community’s transport network, providing benefits that will continue well beyond the life of the project.
