The Reedy Creek Key Resource Area Project (RCKRA Project) is designed to keep heavy-vehicle movements predictable, efficient, and away from local neighbourhood streets by using designated KRA haul routes. This traffic approach includes:
Inbound routes
RCKRA Project

WBCWRR Project

Outbound routes
RCKRA Project

WBCWRR Project

Overburden haulage route

These routes have been planned to:
- Minimise impacts on local roads and residential areas.
- Reduce congestion and improve safety.
- Follow approved haulage corridors.

Alternate haul route - Bermuda Street Extension
As alluded to in the Item 41j of Boral’s Information Request response, it is understood that the proposed ‘alternate road upgrade’ is a reduced-scope version of a long-planned upgrade known as the ‘Bermuda Street Extension’, a project that has been discussed for many years as a way to improve connectivity and relieve pressure on the surrounding network.
Key points regarding this potential route include:
- The alternate upgrade has merit and would likely deliver broad road network benefits.
- It is understood that Council is currently undertaking preliminary investigation and planning of this new version of the extension. However, the critical land parcel required for the upgrade (Lot 900 on SP346816) is privately owned freehold land and not controlled by either the Applicant or Council.
- Because of this, the extension cannot be relied upon at this time to provide additional capacity and connectivity.
Looking ahead, if the Bermuda Street Extension becomes feasible, whether as part of this project or through a separate initiative, it would enable more direct efficient movements between the RCKRA and WBCWRR Project sites and improve access to and from the Pacific Highway.
